USA v Mexico Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and ...

A packed crowd of almost entirely Mexican fans in Houston, Texas saw El Tri suffer a 4-1 friendly defeat to Uruguay at the weekend.

The central Americans will be aiming to bounce back when they face the USA in Tennessee in the early hours of Wednesday morning and El Tri's interim coach Ricardo Ferretti has said he will make considerable changes to his starting eleven.

USMNT suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Brazil at the weekend, although only four members of the US starting eleven had more than 10 caps with the emphasis from coach Dave Sarachan very much on youth.

Latest odds

The last time these two sides face each other in a friendly was back in 2015 when the US won by a 2-0 scoreline on home soil.

Another victory for the hosts is priced at 12/5 (3.40) with SportPesa, while are available at 5/4 (2.25) and the draw can be backed at 43/20 (3.15).

Team news

The majority of Mexico's European based players have already returned to their club sides, with Guillermo Ochoa, Hirving Lozano and Erick Gutierrez all having left the squad. Either Gibran Lajud or Hugo Gonzalez will make their debut in goal for El Tri while plenty of other players should come into the starting eleven.

The US are without Christian Pulisic, who stayed with his club Borussia Dortmund because of injury.

Preview

As football as a sport grows in North America so too does the intensity of this rivalry, and the atmosphere will certainly be more heated than it was for the USA's game with Brazil.

The USMNT boast a decent scoring record in this fixture, having netted in each of their last six meetings with Mexico.

Indeed in four of those games the US managed to score twice, while Mexico have conceded nine times in their last three games. It remains to be seen how this young US side get on against a relatively makeshift Mexican outfit

Tips and predictions

Neither side are at full strength, yet it is hard to ignore the price of 20/21 (1.98) for both teams to score. This fixture has traditionally brought goals and given the passion the game continues to inspire, there should be plenty of intensity unlike other friendlies.

The US are also offered at 21/10 (3.10) to score over 1.5 goals which as mentioned previously has been a regular winning selection in this fixture.
