The first full trailer for The Lion King finally has the animals talking.
Yes, yes, we know it’s not technically a live-action remake, but instead a remake using photorealistic CG animation to simulate a live-action feel. The first trailer for The Lion King mirrored the opening sequence of the original traditionally animated film, with the iconic “Circle of Life” soaring above the magnificent sunrise.
But this new trailer gives us more of the action. While Mufasa (voiced once again by James Earl Jones) had some voice-over lines in the first teaser, we finally get to see some of the other characters talk on screen. And it’s interesting.
The star-studded voice cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, BEYONCE as Nala, Seth Rogen as Pumba, and Billy Eichner as Timon. Did we mention Beyoncé as Nala? Because, Beyoncé is Nala.
The Lion King is one of four adaptations of classic Disney animated movies out this year. The film will arrive in theaters on July 19 — just after the original’s 25h
