Mobile County tornado damage: Twister knocks down trees, power lines and lifts trampoline onto roof - AL.com

Update 7:22 p.m.: Mobile police are asking the public to avoid the area near McFarland Road, Johnson Road South and Bloomington Drive because of downed power lines and impassible roads.

The roads will be closed “until further notice,” according to Mobile police Sgt. LaDerrick DuBose.

Police do not have reports of any injuries.

Alabama Power is on the scene.

Original story: A “large and dangerous” tornado touched down in south Alabama Friday afternoon, knocking down trees and power lines and even picking up a trampoline that crashed into the roof of a home.

The twister was on the ground around 4:45 p.m. near Semmes, according to the National Weather Service’s Mobile office.

Much of Mobile and Baldwin counties were under tornado warnings and watches Friday, and another tornado was spotted in West Mobile.

In Semmes, the twister picked up a trampoline and slammed it onto a roof:
