Nicklas Backstrom to Alex Ovechkin for the video-game goal - Russian Machine Never Breaks

The Caps had a decent second period against the Calgary Flames, but Austin Czarnik’s one-touch goal as a power play expired tied the score at 2. Alex Ovechkin simply could not allow that.

Here’s Alex Ovechkin’s seventh goal of the season.

It’s a simple rush set up by Nicklas Backstrom. Just ten seconds after the puck dropped following Czarnik’s goal, the Caps’ regained the lead.

After Nicklas Backstrom chips the puck into open ice, he slides the puck over to Ovechkin for the one-timer from his office.

Ovechkin is sneaking up behind Luc Robataille, who has four more goals than Ovi at 12th place all-time.

Backstrom now has the fifth-most assists in NHL history by a Swedish-born player.
