Avengers: Infinity War Writers Reveal Cut Hulk/Doctor Strange Scene - Heroic Hollywood

Avengers: Infinity War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely described a deleted scene involving Bruce Banner and the Hulk in Doctor Strange’s mindscape universe.

Throughout Avengers: Infinity War, Bruce Banner struggled the summon the Hulk after the Green Goliath suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of Thanos. While the resolution to this struggle would have to wait until Avengers: Endgame, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely revealed the conflict between Banner and Hulk originally came to a conclusion by the end of Infinity War.

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely discussed how certain scenes were cut because they would have taken the focus away from Thanos’ storyline. As the Infinity War writers explained, one of those scenes involved Hulk and other heroes entering Doctor Strange’s mindscape universe:

“There was a sequence in the first movie where they went into the places in the Doctor Strange universe called the mindscape and everyone faces themselves. It was great but had absolutely nothing to do with anything.”

McFeely added that the scene would have seen Banner confront the Hulk before the two arrived in Wakanda merged together, as seen in Avengers: Endgame:

“Banner meets the Hulk, I think in the arena from Ragnarok. Only one of them was getting out of there, and then that one showed up in Wakanda [in Infinity War] and he had merged. That merging that currently happens in [Endgame] in a diner, and he’s eating a huge stack of pancakes? That initially happened at the end of Infinity War.”

Would you have preferred to see Hulk and Banner merge in Avengers: Infinity War? Do you want to see the mindscape universe in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel? Lets us know in the comments!
