
Carson Rose scored a natural hat trick in the third period and four goals overall as St. Scholastica overcame a deficit and defeated Trine 5-3 on Friday at Mars Lakeview Arena.
Rose scored his first goal at 6:44 of the second period for a 2-2 tie, but Trine's Corey Robertson put his squad up with a goal at 12:21 of the second.
But Rose scored at 29 seconds of the third to tie the game again, then added goals at 11:01 and insurance at 19:15.
CSS' Michael Talbot scored the game's first goal at 7:04 of the first. Nate Pionk had four assists, Sam Fuss and Jordan Fralich both had two assists and Talbot and Nate Drobnick both had helpers. Saints goalie Zane Steeves made 23 saves.
Trine and the Saints play again at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mars Lakeview.
