Gotze: "After The Interval We Knew We Couldn't Let Inter Continue To Play How They Were" - SempreInter

Mario Gotze has shared his thoughts and feelings following Borussia Dortmund’s comeback 3-2 victory over Inter last night in the Champions League.

“Of course we had imagined the game going quite differently, we suddenly found ourselves 2-0 behind. For the group and us, of course, it’s all the more important that we came back,” he explained in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten.

“Things are a little more relaxed with thanks to the victory. We still have a very difficult game in Barcelona and the home game against Slavia Prague will certainly not be any easier.

“We had some good chances in the first half and in the second half we did not let Inter play like we had let them before. Clearly we have conceded some stupid goals and we must not repeat this.

“After the interval we put a lot of pressure on Inter. We knew we could not let them play and that we had to score three goals and we did that.”

In conclusion he praised Achraf Hakimi, whose brace helped them to the win: “He is unpredictable with his speed. He has already led us to victory in Prague and is an important player for our team.”
