Video allegedly showing Msians beating Indonesia football fans goes viral; police report lodged - New Straits Times

BANGI: The Youth and Sports Ministry has lodged a police report to investigate the authenticity of a viral video allegedly showing Indonesian football fans being beaten by Malaysian supporters at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, on Tuesday.

Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said his ministry made the report to ensure that those who had caused harm are brought to justice, even if they are Malaysian.

He said the situation has taken a serious turn, as several Indonesians have begun making threats on social media to kill Malaysian players and fans.

Malaysia beat Indonesia 2-0 in the 2022 World Cup/2023 Asian Cup qualifiers on Tuesday. – Bernama
