State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir has said he will dismiss national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia president director Ari Askhara following the discovery of a smuggled Harley-Davidson motorcycle and upmarket bicycles on board a new Airbus A330-900 being delivered from France. He will also review the airline’s board of directors and commission members to prevent similar incidents occurring in the fuature. “I will dismiss the Garuda president director and the process will be in accordance with regulated procedures,” Erick told a joint press conference with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in Jakarta on Thursday. The dismissal will have to be approved in an extraordinary shareholders meeting (RUPSLB) as Garuda is a publicly listed company.
