Plan on a few more rounds of heavy rain for this afternoon and evening. Showers and storms are continuing to lift into the area from the southwest... A couple of them may become strong to severe with damaging wind gusts as the main threat along with heavy rainfall. Watch for areas of localized flooding in those typical trouble spots, since several clusters are repeatedly impacting the same areas with heavy rain.

We are tracking a cold front that will move in on Saturday. It will bring us another chance for scattered showers and storms but will also break us out of this soggy stretch. Strong to severe storms are possible Saturday, a few storms may develop early ahead of the front with more storms into the afternoon. Sunshine, cooler and refreshing conditions are expected for Sunday.

A broad area of low pressure appears to be developing over the central Atlantic Ocean several hundred miles ESE of Bermuda. Additional development of this system is possible, and a subtropical depression could form tonight or on Saturday as it moves generally north. Development is not expected after that time due to unfavorable environmental conditions.
