Veteran Egyptian actress, Ragaa El-Gedawy, tests positive for COVID-19 - Arab News

DUBAI: Legendary Egyptian actress Ragaa El-Gedawy has tested positive for coronavirus, ET Bilarabi reported.

 

The star, whose career spans six decades, has been moved to a hospital in Ismailia, north-eastern Egypt, where she is currently being treated in self-isolation.

 

 

 El-Gedawy recently finished filming her Ramadan show “Leabet Nesyan.” 

 

Now it is reported the cast are worried they might have caught the virus, after celebrating the end of shooting a few days ago. 

Egyptian actor Aly Kassem, who was filming with El-Gedawy, took to twitter to advise the show’s cast to self-isolate.

“I wish artist Ragaa El-Gedawy a safe recovery. I will self-isolate myself, despite the result of the test, and I hope that anyone who interacted with me or with anyone from the cast of ‘Leabet Nesyan’ to also try and self-isolate as much as they can,” he wrote. 

 

Tributes poured in on social media, as soon as the news circulated, wishing the star a safe and healthy recovery.
