1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in east Mobile - AL.com

Mobile police are investigating a shooting that led to one person being killed and another injured in a Navco neighborhood east of Mobile.

Police responded to a report of two victims shot at approximately 1:55 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2020, according to a release from Mobile police Sgt. LaDerrick DuBose.

Officers were called to the Home2 Suites at 1485 Satchel Paige Drive but later found out that the victims attempted to drive themselves to the hospital but stopped. Both victims, a female and male, were actually shot in the 2600 Block of Farnell Drive.

They were both transported to the hospital where 55-year old Darlene Williams-Thompson died from her injuries. The male victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

The investigation is on-going and police are searching for a 19-year-old suspect named Jacorrien Zykil Brown. The pending charges are assault and murder second degree. Police are requesting any information on the whereabouts of the suspect be called into (251)208-7211.
