Four new mobile coronavirus testing sites announced for Bergen County - NorthJersey.com

Four new mobile coronavirus testing sites will be available in Bergen County starting on June 8, county officials said.

The testing sites, which will be in Franklin Lakes, Leonia, Edgewater and Saddle Brook, are the latest locations in the effort to get Bergen County residents and employees tested for free.

“The overwhelming response I have seen at these sites demonstrates the continued need for expanded access to COVID-19 testing across our county, state, and nation," Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco said in a statement.

The test sites, which will operate on a first-come-first-serve basis, will be open from 9 to 10 a.m. for first responders who live or work in the county and from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to any county resident, the statement said.

Here are the dates and locations for the tests, barring cancellations due to weather.

  • June 8 - Franklin Lakes Community Center, 1 Vichiconti Way, Franklin Lakes
  • June 10 - 302 Beechwood Place, Leonia
  • June 11 -  Veterans Field Park, 1057-1165 River Road, Edgewater
  • June 12 - 55 Mayhill St., Saddle Brook

Those receiving a test will need a valid form of identification showing that they either live or work in the county, the statement said. The statement asked that those receiving the saliva test avoid eating, drinking, smoking and chewing gum 30 minutes before the test.

Those interested can choose to get a COVID-19 saliva test or an antibody test. Antibody tests will be limited to 100 tests per day and must be a first responder or a county resident with documentation of a positive coronavirus test.

As of June 5, there were 162,530 reported cases in the state with nearly 12,000 deaths, according to data provided by State health officials.
