Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has dismissed his upcoming match against former employers Manchester United adds anything to the fixture.
Mourinho, who was United boss from 2016-2018, admits it feels like the start of the new season after his side have had more than 100 days off following the coronavirus outbreak.
Mourinho said: "It doesn't help, honestly. Of course I know some of their players but I try to know the players from every team and when I didn't have the chance to work with them like I did with some of the United boys you try to study them as much as you can.
"Normally yes I study opponents, collectively and individually, that's normal.
"Maybe two to three weeks ago we knew the Premier League was going to start, we knew clearly United was the first opponent, West Ham the second opponent, Sheffield United the third opponent.
"You have lots of time to analyse your opponents but you're analysing them three months ago, four months ago.
"And you don't even have the friendly matches like in a normal preseason to follow your opponents, to understand the state of their form, the performance level and new tendencies.
"Everything is different. For me, after more than two decades in football, it's hard for me to say that something is new for me but this is new for me to play this first match after this period. It's new for me too."
