When BTS released the “Dynamite” music video on Aug. 21, we thought that was the most serotonin-providing video in existence. We were wrong. On Aug. 24, BTS released a B-side “Dynamite” music video. Somehow, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are even more chaotic and joy-filled than they were in the original.
The original ‘Dynamite’ music video broke YouTube records.
The Korean band released the digital single “Dynamite” and a music video for the song on Aug. 21. At its premiere, the “Dynamite” music video had 3 million concurrent viewers, setting a record for the biggest YouTube premiere of all time.
In 20 minutes, the K-pop group’s music video reached 10 million views, becoming the fastest music video to do so. It surpassed 20 million views in an hour and 14 minutes.
The day after the video’s release, it was confirmed by YouTube and Big Hit Entertainment that the “Dynamite” music video became the most-viewed YouTube video in the first 24 hours. It achieved 101.1 million views within 24 hours, beating the previous record by over 14 million views.

The group released a new music video
A few days after releasing the original, BTS released a B-side music video of “Dynamite.” A press release from Big Hit Entertainment says: “The music video follows BTS on the same filming set, but in different angles from the original version. Viewers are able to see BTS in action, all of them having fun together in joyful vibes.”
While the B-side music video features the same outfits, lyrics, and bright colors, it is even more joy-filled than the original. This is largely due to the BTS members’ natural chemistry. A great deal of the new footage shows the members genuinely laughing together as they improvise choreography.
ARMY loves the new music video
Based on the records broken with the original, it is obvious that fans love the “Dynamite” music video. However, it seems that some fans love the B-side video even more. Already, the B-side music video has over 14 million views.
On Twitter, fans trended hashtags and phrases related to the new music video release. BTS released “Dynamite” to give fans positivity during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and the B-side music video spreads that happiness even more.
“The way I laughed and cried from this B-side!!! They have no idea how much joy they’ve given us during this moment. Thank you so much, @BTS_twt! (also, if it’s not too much to ask for, I don’t mind having b-sides for everything…) #DynamiteBsideMV,” one fan tweeted.
Another fan tweeted, “I can honestly say that nothing has brought me more joy than the B-side MV. They all look so happy and handsome. I can’t stop smiling. #BTS_Dynamite#BTS@BTS_twt.”
“THE BOYS BEING CHAOTIC AND HAVING FUN TOGETHER IN THE DYNAMITE B-SIDE VERSION MADE ME SO HAPPY. IT REALLY FEELS THE ENERGY WE ALL NEEDED THIS YEAR. I LOVE BTS FOR WORKING SO HARD IN EVERYTHING THEY DO JUST TO SEE ARMY HAPPY #DynamiteBsideMV@BTS_twt,” wrote a Twitter user.
For fans wondering what is next for “Dynamite,” BTS will perform the song at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 30.
