LU fundraising campaign achieves $1M more than goal - Jefferson City News Tribune

Lincoln University's "We Are Lincoln" annual Fund Campaign exceeded its 2019-20 fiscal year goal by more than $1 million.

The original goal had been to raise $1.2 million, but the campaign brought in more than $2.2 million, according to a news release from LU spokeswoman Misty Young.

The university reached its initial goal by December.

The campaign primarily supports student scholarships.

LU President Jerald Jones Woolfolk said in the news release: "In the midst of so much happening in our world, we are overwhelmed with the support of our Annual Fund Campaign. These gifts brought us hope — hope for stability in these uncertain times; hope for our future as we navigate through today; and, most importantly, hope for our students who so desperately need tangible proof that things will be OK. We are grateful for every donor who has helped us continue the great legacy of Lincoln University."

Cash, in-kind gifts, pledges, endowment and estate gifts from alumni, friends and community partners assisted in reaching more than $2.2 million.

More information about how to donate to LU is available by contacting André Grinston, vice president of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations, at 573-681-5506.
