Premier Palaszczuk is 'playing to an election timetable, not a crisis timetable' - Sky News Australia

New South Wales Deputy Premier John Barilaro says his government needs to pressure Queensland into allowing more NSW residents entry because the current closure is impacting construction, education and health services. Mr Barilaro told Sky news host Chris Kenny on Wednesday he was between travelling from the Queensland border to the Albury border to deal with the different issues at each place. He said the NSW-Victoria border closure was completely in his state government’s control and, with case numbers in Victoria no longer rising exponentially, there was an opportunity to reset the border restrictions. “And on the other side up north we have to try to expand the bubble and pressure Queensland to allow us to have more people be able to cross that border because it is impacting on housing, construction, of course education and health services,” he said. “There’s no doubt that Annastacia Palasczcuk is playing to an election timetable not in relation to a crisis timetable or a lockdown timetable and that is of concern. "They’ll go into caretaker mode shortly and that’s going to be even more concerning for that Queensland border.” Image: Getty
