Victorians blocked from studying in SA as state welcomes 300 foreign students - Sky News Australia

Victorian students have questioned the South Australian government for granting foreign university students an exemption to enter in a special pilot program while blocking students across the border. Foreign students are poised to jet into SA under a plan to revive the $2 billion education sector in a national-first pilot program involving 300 students. SA Premier Steven Marshall said “we’re not going to do anything which is going to disadvantage the very good situation we have from a health perspective”. However, Victorian Opposition Leader Michael O’Brien said the whole situation sounded like “bureaucracy gone mad”. “There is a way around it; just treat Victorians the same as you would overseas students,” he said. Victorians will face tighter border restrictions from Friday when only very specific essential workers will be allowed to cross the border into South Australia. Image: News Corp Australia
