An Opulent 400-Square Feet Walk-In Wardrobe
With the daughters having grown up and moved to their own homes, Anita Mody wanted to revamp her home. Designed by Kayzad Shroff and Maria Leon of SHROFFLeON, Mody’s new home is suitable for her empty nest, and she says, “I now have something I’ve always wanted…a walk-in closet.” The 400-square-foot walk-in wardrobe, located in her master bedroom, has textured wooden flooring like the rest of the private spaces in the home. The closet consists of grey ceiling-height shutters and transparent shutters with black frames. Gold accents, a fluffy statement chair, and floor-to-ceiling curtains add a glamorous touch to the luxurious space. - Devyani Jayakar
Muted Backdrop To Let The Clothes Shine
“If I could work 48 hours a day, I would. And who better than Gauri to create my workspace for me," says Manish Malhotra explaining his choice of designer for renovating and expanding his Pali Hill home. In the study-cum-fittings room, Gauri Khan provides a subtle backdrop for the gorgeously embellished designs that are characteristic of Malhotra's study-cum-fitting room. The design of the space honours Malhotra's eye for detail but is toned done in its design approach. “I spend the whole day with bling and shine and embroideries and colour…so when I come home, it’s not what I want at all," says Malhotra. Bold striped wallpaper, houndstooth upholstery, and pale colours fit his brief while weaving in a mix of vintage and modern that runs through the designer's townhouse as a common thread. - Priyanka Khanna
