29 Pine Street, Hamilton is set to entice buyers with its tropical urban oasis charm.

23 years ago, Warren and Justine Cant found the perfect gem to raise their family in at 29 Pine Street, Hamilton.

Over the last two decades, they have transformed the home into their own picturesque tropical urban oasis.

But now, after their two eldest children have left home and their two youngest at university, they are ready to downsize.

“We’re going to miss the relaxed atmosphere of the home. When you walk into the home, you have this picturesque window with mature poincianas and a tropical garden. It’s a really nice outlook. Whenever people first visit the home, they often comment on how relaxed its atmosphere is, and they feel comfortable sitting and relaxing.” Mr Cant said.

“We bought here because we wanted a large block for children to grow up on with easy access to the motorways as I worked between the Gold Coast and Brisbane CBD. It was very unique. It also worked well for the family with Ascot Primary School, Crosby Park and Brothers Rugby Club.

Over the past 23 years, the current owners have done two major renovations to 29 Pine Street, Hamilton.

“We did two major renovations in 2002 and over the pandemic in 2020. We wanted to go with a tropical theme as we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and created natural insulation. We introduced engineered flooring upstairs, new carpets, renovated ensuites, new wool insulation in the ceiling and painted the roof with a heat-reflective paint. We also landscaped the yard.

“We finished the last renovation last year, adding ducted aircon upstairs and a split system downstairs to allow our two teenagers still at home to set their own temperature for their rooms.”

The current owners have lived at 29 Pine Street, Hamilton for the last 23 years and have decided its time to downsize.

Mr Cant said it will be sad for his family to part from their Pine Street home.

“Part of me is thinking it’s a big chunk of my life, and we’ll miss it, but it’s time for someone else to come and enjoy it and raise their family as we have. My two youngest have only lived on Pine Street, and my two oldest have left home. I know for a fact some shenanigans go on when Mum and Dad aren’t home, and the boys had been jumping off the roof of the house into the pool,” he said.

“When we moved it, you had Hamilton’s prestigious, more popular parts. We were a bit later on the scene. Now, you have all the activity with the dining precinct and other amenities. You have Collingwood Black, Grandpa Jack’s, all these cool little bars opening up.

“The reason we’re selling is to downsize. I retired a couple of years ago. Our two youngest children are at uni and left school. We’ve decided to downsize on the block size simply to have more of a lock and leave type property. I’m still very active. I like to dive, and my wife and I want to travel. We plan to spend a lot of time overseas, hiking and having a bit of an adventure.”

Property agent Drew Davies from Place Estate Agents Ascot said it was very rare to come by a home with a block of land of this size in Hamilton.

“Any time there is a land holding this large it’s going to attract a lot of attention,” Mr Davies said.
“We’ve seen a broad range of buyer interested in the property so far including some interstate from Victoria and local families.”
29 Pine Street, Hamilton heads to auction November 18 at 9am with Place Estate Agents Ascot.
