The CLE Cabriolet, Mercedes-Benz’s latest addition, offers advanced features for convertible enthusiasts.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the CLE Cabriolet, building on its heritage of creating four-seater convertible vehicles. This new addition is characterized by its expressive design, advanced technology, and high-quality features, ensuring an enhanced driving experience. The model, which evolves from the CLE Coupé, stands out with its traditional fabric acoustic soft top and distinct high-quality details, making it uniquely positioned in the market. Designed to offer dynamic performance alongside exceptional daily comfort, the CLE Cabriolet supports year-round open-air enjoyment.

Currently available for ordering in Germany through both dealerships and online platforms, with a starting price of €66,402, its European market introduction is slated for the end of April 2024, with plans to extend to other regions subsequently.

The vehicle incorporates the AIRCAP® electric wind deflector and the AIRSCARF® neck heating systems as standard features, enhancing comfort during open-top driving in cooler temperatures. The AIRCAP® system, designed to redirect airflow, and the AIRSCARF® system, which provides warmth around the neck area of front-seat occupants, aim to improve driving comfort under various weather conditions.

The cabriolet’s acoustic soft top, offered in black, red, or grey, plays a key role in its suitability for use across all seasons. Its multi-layer construction with significant insulation aims to offer optimal thermal comfort and reduce noise levels. The top operates silently, capable of opening and closing in 20 seconds at speeds of up to 60 km/h, powered entirely by electricity. Additionally, the powered roller divider separates the folded soft top from the spacious luggage compartment, providing practicality for everyday use.

Interior and equipment highlights

The interior features a freestanding 12.3-inch digital instrument display and an 11.9-inch central display, with the latter adjustable to minimize glare when the top is down. Options like dynamic ambient lighting and high-quality interior materials, including man-made nappa leather effect and chrome trim, aim to enhance the cabin’s aesthetic appeal. The vehicle also offers special coatings on optional leather seats to reduce heat absorption, maintaining cooler seat temperatures in sunlight.

As the largest convertible in its class, the CLE Cabriolet offers ample space for four occupants. It provides enhanced comfort for all passengers, with notable increases in legroom and headroom for those seated in the rear. Practicality extends to the 285-liter boot, designed for everyday use and featuring contactless access for added convenience.

Technological advancements for customized driving experience

The vehicle integrates the latest MBUX infotainment system, facilitating a personalized and interactive entertainment experience. This system includes access to third-party applications, aiming to offer a varied entertainment experience for users. Additionally, the system’s artificial intelligence (AI) component allows for a high degree of personalization, with users able to create and implement custom routines based on their preferences.

Driving dynamics and efficiency

The chassis and suspension systems of the CLE Cabriolet are engineered to balance sporty handling with ride comfort, suitable for both spirited driving and long-distance journeys. The introduction of mild-hybrid technology across all engine options reflects Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to enhancing fuel efficiency while maintaining performance levels.
