Hilton Partners With Small Luxury Hotels—Here’s What It Means For You - Forbes

On July 9, 2024, Hilton announced an exclusive new collaboration with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, adding nearly 400 properties to its coterie. Essentially this means you can now book some of Small Luxury Hotel’s most exciting properties via Hilton and (most importantly) redeem and earn Hilton Honors points for your stay.

It’s a strategic win for both brands: Small Luxury Hotels of the World—a collection of largely independent boutique properties with an average room count of 48—gains access to a more expansive customer database (there are currently over 180 million members of the Hilton Honors guest loyalty program), while Hilton expands its global footprint and takes on some real soulful hidden gems.

Chris Silcock, president of global brands and commercial services at Hilton, says via press release: “Integrating with Small Luxury Hotels of the World allows us to expand the Hilton stay experience and travel aspirations for all guests, with special opportunities for our loyal Hilton Honors members. The hundreds of independently minded properties are highly complementary to our renowned luxury portfolio and support Hilton’s ongoing efforts to expand and create distinct, localized travel experiences for our guests.”

The Hiltons Honors loyalty program is free to join, and in addition to earning and redeeming points, members are also granted special benefits at participating SLH properties, including free WiFi and discounts, while Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members also gain space-available upgrades and complimentary breakfast.

Small Luxury Hotels of the World has around 570 hotels in over 90 countries. There are currently 390 hotels participating in the new Hilton collaboration, including Sweden’s otherworldly Arctic Bath; London’s iconic Dukes (home of the James Bond martini); locally owned Baros Maldives; and the brand new Hotel Casa Lucia in Argentina (pictured above). More hotels will be joining, but the current list can be found here.
