DJ Pryor, Clarksville's viral video dad, launches comedy production company - Clarksville Now

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)-   DJ Pryor, of Clarksville,  and his toddler son, Kingston, took the internet by storm in June 2019 with a video that shows the daddy-son duo having an intense conversation- babbling baby style- about the finale of a popular TV show.

Millions of views poured in across all social media platforms and overnight, DJ Pryor and his family became a video viral sensation.

Since then, Pryor and little Kingston have become a popular duo and have made multiple TV appearances, scored endorsement deals and partnerships. He’s been invited to speak about childhood development at various events.

Pryor and his family were invited to The Today Show, Chris Cuomo CNN, Access Hollywood. On New Year’s Eve, they were on two separate Channels NBC Toast to 2019  and ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve.

In fact, on Monday, February 24th, he will appear on Steve Harvey’s new show on Facebook Watch.

“I’m really proud of the fact that it helped me promote fatherhood in a positive way,” Pryor said. “…As you can imagine, life has been moving at a very fast pace (in a good way) since the video has gone viral,” Pryor said. “I’ve been asked to speak at many child development conferences, but it’s opened even more doors and added to already existing opportunities previous to the video going viral.”

Despite his busy comedy career, he still lives in Clarksville to ‘keep the sense of grounding’.

Pryor has been doing comedy for about two decades and has now launched, Laughter is Universal, (LIU), a production company focused on fresh comedy.

“I wanted to create something that allowed me to be free in my expression of comedy and deliver the type of projects that are important to me. I want to give other people opportunities to use comedy as a vehicle to express themselves. That’s why Laughter is Universal is meant to be.“

LIU is an offspring to his parent company, DJ Pryor, Incorporated. Niki S. Pryor, his wife, has been appointed as co-founder and has experience as an executive producer.

Laughter Is Universal will create and produce hilarious digital content such as original comedy sketches, short films, web series, documentaries; as well as, partnering with some Hollywood elite studios on projects pitched by LIU. The content will be both family-friendly and mature content.

Laughter Is Universal will feature DJ Pryor and a variety of up-and-coming stand-up comedians and comedic actors/actresses.

Pryor has lived in the community since he was 8 years old when his father Rodney Pryor’s military career brought the family to Fort Campbell Ky.

After his father’s military career ended, DJ Pryor, his father, and siblings moved to Lincoln Homes.

“I’m proud that I am creating a legacy of my own, not just for myself but paving the way for other filmmakers and creatives. I am more proud that kids from Lincoln Homes, like myself, can see someone achieve great things,” Pryor said.

Productions from Laughter is Universal’s will be posted digitally on their Facebook Page and Instagram pages
