Odion Ighalo opened his account for Manchester United with a fine team goal on his full debut for the club against Club Brugge.
The striker was a shock loan signing on deadline day in January from Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua and he’s had to bide his time for his first start for the club after two substitute appearances for the Red Devils.
Ighalo is the first Nigerian to represent United and as a self-confessed boyhood fan of the club, the joy was written all over the striker’s face when he tapped home a cutback from Juan Mata to complete his dream of scoring for the club.

The former Watford man lifted his shirt to reveal a photo of his sister Mary, who passed away just six weeks before his dream move to Old Trafford.

Mary Atole collapsed in her home in Canada in December and died before medics arrived at her apartment to treat her.
The sudden nature of her death rocked the Ighalo family and the Nigerian has promised to dedicate his goals at Old Trafford in her memory.
The t-shirt included the date of Mary’s death and Ighalo admitted upon his move to the north-west how sad he was that his sister would never see him play for the club.

‘I feel very emotional because it has not really struck me that my sister is gone forever and I am never going to see her again,’ said Ighalo.
‘Sometimes when I am alone and I just remember her, I have one sharp pain in my heart.
‘My twin sister, Akhere, will call me, crying, saying she misses her and, sometimes when I am alone, I cry too.
‘It is a very painful loss but I am trying to be strong as a man.’
