The video, which was posted Saturday to YouTube and Reddit, quickly went viral and appeared to show a case of road rage that turned into a serious collision in Pitt Meadows.
The 10 second-long video, which looked to have been filmed by a passenger in a moving car, shows a driver in another car in an adjacent lane. The driver in the other vehicle can be seen leaning out the driver side window and yelling, while his car accelerates dramatically past other moving vehicles on the road.
Suddenly, the driver, who does not appear to be watching the road, can be seen slamming into a yellow car in front, which in turn appears to hit another vehicle.
When contacted, Ridge Meadows RCMP said police don’t conduct investigations through social media but said they were aware of the collision in question.
“Ridge Meadows RCMP can confirm that police responded to a multi-vehicle collision near the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Meadows Gardens Way in Pitt Meadows on the evening of March 6,” said Insp. Aaron Paradis.
“Four vehicles were involved and one female was taken to hospital with minor injuries. One man was arrested at the scene.”
Police did not say whether the man arrested is the one pictured in the video.
