SPEARFISH, S.D. – Rick is off the building.
The Spearfish Strong organization has reached its goal of 15 thousand dollars to help individuals affected by COVID-19.
Rick Radliff has been camping on the roof of Heisler’s Hardware in Spearfish since Friday at noon.
But he finally came down at 2:15 p.m. on Monday after the group raised $17,065, beating the goal by over two thousand dollars.
The group will use the funds to purchase food and other necessities for the elderly and families in Spearfish.
“People are just so giving right now,” Rick Radliff said. “There’s people giving right now that shouldn’t really be giving. There’s people that came by that lost their jobs. But they still wanted to give a little.”
Sspearfish Strong says the need for money continues to grow.
Since Thursday, April 2, the group has already spent $3,000 on groceries for the elderly and families.
